Since the dawn of time drums have been essential to human culture. Drums and other similar percussion instruments have been used for long-distance communication, story telling, ceremony, religious rituals and celebration. The ubiquitous nature of drums and rhythm can be seen in all facets of modern and ancient civilization as well as in the cultures preceding history.

Whether used to maintain formation in battle or in the cliche of one marching to the beat of their own drum, drums and percussion simultaneously represent the individual and the group like no other instrument can.

At The Rhythm Lab we respect the history of percussion and are defined by a passion for the art, soul and essence of rhythm. As much as we'd like to believe that we create percussionists, we know the truth to be that we simply bring out the drummer that already exists in each and every one of us.
